Shared Table

Neighbors gather from across our city around a common table. We share more than food—we learn about each other.

What Is a Shared Table?

A Shared Table is a guided conversation that brings people from across San Antonio together to better understand the story of the city and reflect on their place within it.

Why It Matters

San Antonio is shaped by a complex history that has created both opportunity and hardship across neighborhoods. Yet, many of us experience only a small part of that story.

Shared Tables bring together neighbors from different ZIP codes and lived experiences to help us see the city more fully—not as a single story, but as a shared one.

What to Expect

Each Shared Table includes:

  • A brief story or presentation offering context on the city
  • Small group conversation with people you may not know led by a facilitator
What We Ask of You
  • Come with curiosity
  • Listen across difference
  • Engage this as a space for understanding, not debate
  • Sit with questions rather than rushing to answers
  • Reflect on how your own experiences and decisions shape others
